Acro is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with acrobatics. We are inspired by the beautiful professional dance performances of Cirque du Soleil and want to harness that joyful movement in our Acro classes!
Unlike conventional gymnastics, we do not use an apparatus in this class. The tricks performed in this class are typically taught on mats and eventually move to the floor. Students in this class will improve their strength and flexibility to execute the moves demonstrated in an Acro routine safely. This fun and dynamic class is a favourite for kids who are always on the move and is offered at several levels to accommodate the various degrees of expertise and strength.

Our class focuses on developing strength, posture, coordination and musical awareness.
A vibrant and entertaining class suitable for all beginners, this Bollywood class offers an expressive form of movement inspired by popular Indian films. Fusing classical Indian steps with folk, Latin and hip-hop styles, this engaging class is fast-moving and fun!
Fun songs and images fill our Creative Movement pre-ballet classes, and young children are guided towards understanding and enjoying the fundamentals of ballet. These classes are open to both boys and girls and are a wonderful introduction to structured dance training.
It is not uncommon to walk past drama classes and hear roaring laughter. We encourage students to step outside of their comfort zones to try this fun, interactive class! No previous experience necessary.
Our Drama classes encourage students to gain confidence with public speaking and promote body awareness by developing skills through reading and interpreting dramatic literature, analyzing characters, listening critically, and speaking effectively.
Drama provides group and individual activities in body control, voice, diction, and pantomime. Students will build on their skills by creating characters, projecting and interpreting their ideas and emotions, and preparing and acting in various scenes.
Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside the box by bringing their style and personality to the movements. The class includes upper and lower body conditioning and a rigorous warm-up to help prepare the students for more intense movements.
Jazz is a lively and expressive dance form that combines contemporary moves with classic ballet technique. This is a high-energy class loaded with fun that encourages rhythm, coordination, strength, and flexibility. We typically divide our jazz class into three parts: warm-up, across the floor, and choreography.
A jazz class’s pace is much quicker than a ballet class and is conducive to high-energy dancers who like to jump and move. Many of the entertaining moves taught in jazz classes are commonly seen in Broadway shows and musicals. Music in this class ranges from the current top 40 tunes on the radio to classic rock, pop, and jazz songs with an upbeat tempo.
By invitation only, this group of dancers has a keen interest in many dance disciplines. The schedule consists of four classes a week minimum in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and/or musical theatre. Our Junior Company dancers enjoy spending several hours each week honing their skills. If you have a dancer aged 5-7 years who you think might be a good fit, please contact us. We love to encourage dedication and enthusiasm in our promising young dancers!
Express yourself! Lyrical dance combines elements of ballet, modern, and jazz techniques. We set the dances to music with vocals and let the choreography tell the story. Lyrical dance uses gestures, emotions, and drama. The method in a lyrical class is more contemporary than conventional and is very expressive.
Since this class focuses primarily on choreography, it is recommended for dancers who have had training in other dance disciplines or are currently taking additional dance classes.
If your little one just loves to move and shake it up, this class is for them! We set our high-energy dance steps to age-appropriate music during this class. Watch your child develop strength and coordination and improve their motor skills, sense of rhythm, and musicality, all while enjoying the songs and beats that energetic kids love most!
Modern is an expressive form of dance that explores the movement of the body and the expression of emotion through dance and the elements surrounding us. These classes will focus on contractions, spirals, basic floor work, and elemental concepts of space, time, and force to develop technical proficiency, musicality, and rhythmic accuracy. By not teaching one specific modern technique, we aim to educate our students on multiple professional methods and encourage them to express their creativity and grow their movement vocabulary through improvisation.
Musical theatre is a comprehensive triple threat program combining the art of singing, acting, and dancing. Drama games and exercises are used to promote improvisation and trust, ensuring that all of the dancers develop greater self-confidence when performing. We emphasize learning performance skills, such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions. Skills, including theatre dance, partnering, acting, character development, and chorus singing, will be additional.
This entertaining class is fun for everyone but might be best suited for performers with big personalities or those who are eager to break out of their shell!
Each year, we select ballet students to take their training to the next level (literally!). Pointe students must take more than one ballet class per week and must first complete the proper “pre-pointe” training period, which includes extensive strengthening of the feet, ankles, and lower legs.
In this class, exercises emphasize turnout, pointing of the toes, and maintaining general ballet technique while on pointe.
Each fall, new pointe students are accompanied by the studio director or their teacher to the Shoe Room at Canada’s National Ballet School to be correctly fitted for their first pair of pointe shoes. This is a huge step and a very memorable occasion in a ballet dancer’s life!
Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style, and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun. As students progress through each level, the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.
Calling all tiny tap dancers! Our introductory tap classes are designed to give children the opportunity to develop rhythm and the sounds of basic tap progressions.
The School will be closed between Saturday December 19th and Friday January 1st. Classes will resume January 2nd (ONLINE ONLY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE). Happy Holidays! Dismiss
